How We Store Your Data
Local Storage
All your journal entries are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you choose to enable iCloud sync:
- Your journal entries are synced to your personal iCloud account
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's security standards
- Only you have access to this data through your Apple ID
- We do not have access to your iCloud data
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time in the app settings
How We Use Your Information
Your journal entries and settings are used solely to:
- Display your journal entries within the app
- Sync your data across your devices (if you enable iCloud sync)
- Send you daily reminders (if you enable notifications)
- Personalize your experience with your chosen theme
Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- All data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
- iCloud data is encrypted using Apple's encryption standards
- We do not have access to your journal entries
- Your data is protected by your device's security features (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode)
Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your journal entries in the app
- Export: Export all your data as a JSON file at any time
- Delete: Delete individual entries or all your data
- Control Sync: Enable or disable iCloud sync at any time
Children's Privacy
I Did Five is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require any personal information to function.
Third-Party Services
I Did Five uses the following Apple services:
- iCloud: For optional data sync (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
- Local Notifications: For optional daily reminders (stored locally on your device)
We do not use any other third-party services, analytics, or advertising networks.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the app and on this page. The "Effective Date" at the top will indicate when the policy was last updated.
Data Retention
Your data is retained:
- Locally on your device until you delete the app or delete the entries
- In your iCloud account (if sync is enabled) until you disable sync or delete the data
- We do not retain any data on our servers because we don't have servers
International Data Transfers
Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account (if enabled). iCloud data storage location is determined by your Apple ID country/region and is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
